Highlights / Critic Review:
The Selbachfamily has been in the German wine business since 1660. Today Johannes Selbachand his wife Barbara manage the winery, which has become one of the leadingMosel producers of wines. Many of their wines have received excellent reviews.
This wine isnaturally fermented in old Mosel Fuder barrels, some up to 60 years old.
Tasting Notes:
Fresh andelegant with bright juicy fruit flavours, a hint of smokyminerality and a touch of citrus in the finish.
Good to pairwith savoury or slightly spicy foods from Pacific Rim cuisine toclassic dishes from the Continental cuisine, from crab cakes to crab insaffron broth, grilled curry chicken salad, house-cured charcuteries with sweet’ nsour and with blue cheeses as well as “smelly” rawmilk cheeses (e.g. Munster cheese from Alsace).
