Region: Alsace, France
Grape Variety: Pinot Noir
Highlights / Critic Review:
Various hill-sides around the little village of Bergheim with a predominance of heavy soils compound by clay and limestone.
Tasting Notes:
Attractive red colour. It develops an expressing fruit nose with lingering red fruit aromas (cherry, blackcurrant, red currant, etc.). We find again the red fruits in the mouth making this wine a very approachable slightly oaked Pinot Noir and an easy enjoyable refined and fresh red wine, which is very food friendly and showing a pleasant freshness.
Good to pair with light cold and hot starters, barbecue, red and game meats (duck, venison), charcuterie, light hard cheeses and gratin of soft red fruits as unusual matches!
