Region: Alsace, France
Grape Variety: Riesling
Rating: DWWA 97,WE 94, JS 93
Highlights / Critic Review:
Estate owned grapes and convertedto organic. 30-50 years old vines. Gustave Lorentz is the largest vineyardholder of Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru. Whatever the vintage, it is acomplex wine with a full-body and great concentration, set off by crisp, delicatearomatics.
Tasting Notes:
Bright golden yellow. Intense grapefruit and bergamot aromas with flinty and white pepper notes. Intense and elegant palate expressing with a distinguished character, an impressive, fleshy and highly flavoursome structure, a very refined style and an endless final persistence.
Good to pair with a fine and distinguished cuisine based on the best fish and accompanied by delicate sauce.
